  Title                   : Shells.wad version 1.14
  Author : Arthur Kevin Heller of AKH Systems Software, Inc.

  Email Addresses         : axh174@psu.edu

  Description : Wad file that makes use of the neglected
	  		    shell sprites from DOOM version 1.2 and <
			    They have been added to current sprites
			    so now your shotgun and pistol will have
			    ejecting shells!

  Version of Doom: : Tested with Doom and Doom2 version 1.9
			    In all likelyhood, will also work with
			    Doom and Doom2 version 1.666 and >.
			    Anything less is not advised. Also, this
			    patch WILL NOT work with Windows 95
			    versions of the game.

  Future changes:

	  Immediate: : Fixing shotgun graphic glitch. (see bugs and
			    please e-mail if you can help!)

	  Maybe:          : Shells for Chaingun

    	  Possibly: : Windows 95 versions of Doom and Doom2 supported.

  Additional Credits to : 1) Mr. Skibones DOOM View 3.25 by Russel Wronski
			       for some sprites
			    2) Keith Wilkins' "Wadhacker" ver. Beta 7
			       for most sprites to bmp (spectacular!)
			    3) O. Montanuy's Wintex ver 4.3
			       for all sprite alignment. (you're a saver!)
			    4) Greg Lewis' "Dehacked" ver 3.1
			       for frame adjustments.
			    5) Oliver Montanuy's DeuTex/Deusf ver 3.6
			       (because it's smaller)
			    6) Microsofts Ms-Paint for pasting of bmps
			       I have to give thumbs up to MS for this one.
			    7) The great id Software team. Love ya!

  * Play Information *

  Episode and Level # : all
  Single Player           : Yes
  Cooperative 2-4 Player  : Yes
  Deathmatch 2-4 Player   : Yes
  Difficulty Settings     : yes
  New Sounds              : no
  New Graphics : Yes (shells and a previously unused pistol sprite)

  * Construction *

  Base : new graphic wad with modified doom sprites
  Build Time : ~ 4 days for proper alignment and power
			    going out. (Peeco Energy problem)
  Editor(s) used          : Doom View 3.25, Wadhacker Beta7, Wintex 4.3
			    Dehacked 3.1, Deusf 3.6
  Known Bugs : The 2nd shell frame of the shotgun has a graphics
			    glitch at the bottom of the screen. The top of the
			    shotgun appears to overlap there. This is not a
			    problem with the sprite itself. When extracted, the
			    sprite looks fine. If anyone has any idea how to fix
			    this, let me know through e-mail.

  * Copyright / Permissions *

  Authors and Gamers MAY use this wad, but no one may alter it in anyway
  without first asking me for permission. (Let me know what you want to do,
  I'm very easy going and will probably let you do it, but I want to
  know what's going on!)

  You MAY distribute this WAD, provided you include the original zipped
  file, shells.zip with its installation files and no modifications.
  You may distribute this file in any electronic format
  (BBS, Diskette, CD, etc) as long as you include the original
  zipped file, shells.zip and its installation files intact.

  The files included in "shells.zip" may be found under "installation"
  at the bottom.

  * Disclaimers *

  This wad has been tested to work with DOOM and DOOM2 versions 1.9 and
  TNT: Evilution and Plutionia versions 1.9 (are there any others? =)
  In all likelyhood, this wad will also work with DOOM and DOOM2 version
  1.666 and >. This has not been tested on any earlier versions of DOOM
  and DOOM2 and probably will not work. (go ahead and try, but I'm not
  responsible) This patch WILL NOT work with Windows 95 versions of DOOM
  and Doom2. The DOOM and DOOM2 games must be unaltered in order for
  this wad to work in it's intended manner. If your games have already
  been altered, then use at own risk. (plane, new levels should not
  be a problem) Anyone using altered files which include new graphics
  and those using dehacked files may be especially at risk of damaging
  their games. If you have altered the games yourself, and are familiar
  with what may or may not damage your game, see the techstuf.txt
  file for what has been altered.

  I am in no way whatsoever responsible for any problematic outcomes
  as a result of using this wad, use this wad at your own risk.
  If something does go wrong, do what any self-respecting computer
  engineer would do and blame it on Bill Gates.

  * Where to get this WAD *

  Me! axh174@email.psu.edu or www.personal.psu.edu/axh174
  various ftp sites. Try: ftp.cdrom.com

  * Installation: *

  Make sure the following files are in your doom directory:

  Dehacked.exe
  Dehacked.ini
  deusf.exe They all just happen to be the same
  shells.wad             files included in "shells.zip"
  shells.deh
  shells.bat
  shells.txt
  techstuf.txt

  The easiest way to do this is to unzip Shells.zip directly into your DOOM
  directory. Type "shells.bat" for further instructions and precautions and
  installation.
